Ah, where do I start? There’s so much I want to say about my experience at Masterclass. But if there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that these guys are the real fucking deal.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Masterclass. I had been left disappointed, jaded, and worn out after going through materials of “pick up schools” whose very instructors weren’t succeeding with women. The reason I chose Troy was that his primary focus wasn’t getting women per se but making you a better man, which is what I wanted most of all. I didn’t want to obsess with women all my life. I had a career to tend to, a life, and personal interests. I just wanted women to be a by-product of becoming my best self.

We began each day of Masterclass with theory and Q & A, and then going out to the club. The theory is at once groundbreaking and timeless, like the advice grandfathers hand down from generations of wisdom. It’s so dead on and sensible you get embarrassed that you didn’t know it before. Now it’s one thing to say that leadership is crucial, but what does leadership actually entail? That’s what Masterclass is for. And I think the advantage of getting theory at Masterclass is that it allows Troy to get to know you and tailor the discussion accordingly. You don’t get that with mp3s.

But it was seeing them in action that awed me. Quite simply, the energy the crew had was so unrestrained, dynamic, and fun, they were drawing girls in from left and right. And I’m sure everyone in the club had their eyes on the crew and would have joined them in a flash if they could, because I could feel it. When I witnessed the ease with which the crew got girls laughing, got girls’ numbers, got innocent, shy-looking girls grinding up on them, got hot girls turning away from their “guy friends,” I was like, “These are the guys I always wanted to be like, the kinds of guys I admired even when my girls left me for them.” Yeah, sad but true, but I didn’t care anymore because here I was, learning how it all worked directly from the guys who did it 24/7.

Most guys who are instinctively good with women are simply unable to teach it to you. It comes so simple to them that although you don’t understand how they do it, they don’t understand how you don’t get it. That’s why they tell you to “be yourself”, because “being yourself” has always worked for them—they were already attractive and didn’t have to change anything up in themselves. On the other hand, there are guys who teach away even when they actually have little success with women (*ahem, pick up schools).

Not so with Troy’s crew. These guys practice what they preach, and they work with you. They sit down and address your individual issues, they encourage questions, they stick with you the whole night you’re out, and most importantly, they don’t give up on you. You’re not going to be out there doing some calculating routines like magic tricks or cold reading. You’re not going to be some creep trying to hypnotize a girl. There are no gambits or scripts here. You work on you, cultivating street smarts that will navigate you through the crowded social landscape.

I really felt privileged to be out with these guys. Did I walk away with 10 girls in hand? No—each of us students were at different stages. Some of us had great adjustments to make; others were very ready for the material and literally went from novices to multiple makeouts in one night. But having gone through years resentment, frustration, desperation, and feeling conned by the “pick up gurus,” I was just glad I found a crew who embodied what I wanted to become and were willing to work with me like long-lost brothers.
